“And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting.” – Acts 2:2
What is it about our nature that as people we are drawn to the perplexities of great movements? If you are anything like me, then you love hearing the stories of people like Martin Luther King Jr, Mahatma Gandhi, Malcolm X, and Nelson Mandela. But what about the story of Jesus and his followers?
Like many other stories Jesus’ movement became a catalyst for his followers which would change the course of human history. It would be life altering to all who heard about the Kingdom of God and the values which shaped the way in which they lived within it. But what about after Jesus left this earth? Who would make the next move?
This would be the moment in which the disciple’s lives would forever awaken to the epiphany of just how immersing Christ’s Kingdom had become over the lives of themselves and all who would call themselves followers of the Way. Something had changed about them. It was something very distinct; something spiritual and electrifying… something eternal… something kinetic!
For the next three months Expressions Community will be ‘Engaging with the Movement’ in Acts 2 through a series called ‘Kinetics’ as part of our Adorations nights. We will look at the movement of the Holy Spirit, of Personal Discipleship, and of the Community and Church.
Come and join the Expressions Community in our Adorations nights on the first Sunday of each month starting this Sunday May 2nd between 5:30 pm – 9:30 pm. We will start off the evening with a small pot luck meal in celebration of communion followed by worship through song, prayer, and God’s Word.
If you and a friend would like to join us please email erik@expressionscommunity.org.

Marley is the yellow lab adopted by John Grogan, a columnist for the Philadelphia Inquirer, and his wife. Their idea was to give them a taste of parenthood, but the dog proved to be a hyperactive handful. He wreaks havoc, gets kicked out of obedience school and gets even worse when the children begin to arrive, yet becomes an indispensable part of the family.
